Jenna Jameson out, Tom from MySpace in?
(Note: I think I am going to make Wednesdays kind of the random odd social networking news story of the week, where I post something a little more offbeat than usual.)
Is social networking overtaking porn? That is the question that Laura Alther poses in a recent blog posting, that you can read here.
Apparently there has been a drop in porn traffic on the web thanks to more people using P2P sharing services. According to Hitwise, porn traffic dropped to 11% of all web traffic while social networking sites such as MySpace, Bebo, and Facebook accounted for 10% of all web traffic and growing.
Talk about this trend has been growing, I have even seen people go as far as saying that social networking will eventually overtake porn as the gap between the two niches is almost non-existent. I don’t know about though, let’s put all the studies aside for a second.
Being someone that is addicted to social networking and also a red blooded male the question boils down to who would I ultimate like to look at:
