Is social networking on the decline?
While everything I have read in the last few months have talked about the explosive growth of social networking there has been one or two articles that talk about the decline of it.
I find most of these articles a little laughable though, this one from the San Fransisco Chronicle though cracks me up.
The one quote that they had in there sums up how poorly thought out this entire article was.
“You join a lot, but you don’t keep up,” said
Dave Taylor, 44, a Internet marketing consultant who complained about
having social networking fatigue on his blog after joining about 15
sites.
Of course if you are on 15 different sites you are going to be annoyed by the process. This is not typical of the average user who usually tops out at 3-4 sites according to most resources.
