Candidate’s MySpace Profile Review: John Edwards
When the road to the White House started I wanted to do a breakdown of the different pages of White House hopefuls but with so many people in the race I decided to wait it out until the herd thinned a bit. Now that it has I am going to do a breakdown of the pages of the top three Democratic nominees (Edwards, Clinton, and Obama) and the top four Republicans (McCain, Romney, Giuliani, and Huckabee) but Romney doesn’t have an official profile listed on MySpace under their MySpace Impact section, which is a poor strategic move but whatever. It creates less work for me, so I am not going to complain. When it is all said and done I will to a summary post and give you my pick .
These reviews are not going to be political and I hope to write them from an objective point of view. This is about their teams abilities to use MySpace and design
First up is John Edwards.

(this picture is a slightly older version of his page)
Impressive, his page might have set the bar for me to compare everyone else against. This is just one giant combination of social media presented in a visually appealing way within MySpace’s coding limitations. Slide widgets, a springbox widget for his blog, connections to his twitter, to youtube, facebook, flickr, an effective use of a paypal widget, blogging on MySpace and ways for people to show their support for him.
I like the color scheme and how everything is presented, it is clear to navigate and gives you so many opportunities to connect. I only have one issue with that page, I think the amount of information on the left hand side through the length of the profile is a little bit much leading to a lot of open space under the top friends feature. With an overlay they could have adjusted this. But that is the only complaint I can come up with on this page, just an excellent job on what can be done using design on MySpace.
What do you think of his layout?
