Blog World Expo: How I am going to cover it
There is so much to go over from Blog World Expo this week. I am going to track down some people to expand on the idea of twitter use and have a longer post on it this week, I know people wanted to know. Also I am transcribing my notes and putting them into blog form, I have a few sets ready to go starting tomorrow.
First of all I have to say that I had low expectations of the conference, I just wasn’t sure what I was going to get out of it. Not that I feel that I know everything but my experience with a lot of bloggers is that they are rather self centered and not really into networking. However that was far from the case.
I was able to meet a lot of bloggers from here at b5media, which was one of the highlights of the trip. I had a lot of fun with the people that work and write for b5. Due to the fact that I was in the executive track at Blog World I was unable to attend some of the sessions that B5 put on during the first day. One of the ones I really wanted to attend was “Amping Up Your Wordpress Blog” by Mark Jaquith, I was lucky enough though that he posted his slides on his own webpage.
Along with meeting people from B5 I was able to establish come really valuable contacts, highlighted by meeting the guys from Jotzel Media. Besides establishing business relationships with them, I found them to be really funny and just good all around guys with great business sense. I was also able to meet the guys that run Blogcatalog.com, which is honestly becoming one of my favorite places to stop by on the web.
The trade show also offered up a chance to see some new products that I will be talking about in the coming weeks, including an exciting new tool by utterz.com.
All in all, I have to say that this trip was so valuable that I am already set and ready to go for next year. Hopefully I can fully convey the information that I learned this week and let you gain something from this trip as well.
